Tikvat David Messianic Synagogue will welcome Dr. Mark Nanos for a Paul within Judaism seminar on November 1-2, 2019. Dr. Nanos (www.marknanos.com) is one of the top Pauline scholars in the world. It is widely acknowledged that Dr. Nanos has done more to advance the idea of “Paul within Judaism” than any scholar. During this seminar, Dr. Nanos will be speaking on topics related primarily to Galatians and Romans.

3:00 - 4:15 PM- Session 3 - Did Paul Oppose Circumcision? Qualifying Paul’s Oppositional Rhetoric (Especially “Pistis” vs “Erga Nomou” [i.e., traditionally transl. “faith” vs “works of law”])
4:30 - 5:45 PM - Session 4 - Did Paul Oppose Jewish Dietary Norms? The Social Dynamics of the Antioch Incident (and in Ekklesias today)
6:45 - 8:00 PM - Session 5 - But Didn't Paul Oppose Jewish Identity and Torah-based Behavior in the Allegory (Gal 4:21—5:1)? The Ironic Conclusion to Our Series.
